New Zealand’s largest fun run, Ports of Auckland Round the Bays, is all up and running for Sunday 3 March 2019!
Starting at the heart of the city in Quay St and finishing at the glorious St Heliers Bay, the iconic and beautiful 8.4km waterfront walk attracts more than 26,000 Kiwis each year.
Now in its 47th year, the event is set to be bigger and better than ever, packed full of fun with entertainment every 600m along the track.
For the first time, participants can get a free event shuttle service from the finish line to the start (before and after the race).
Stay for the end of race celebrations at Vellenoweth Green with free food, drinks, activities, and giveaways and more.
Low decile schools are encouraged to get active with our schools package offering 30+ free kids and adults tickets and post-event hospitality with food and drink and a space to celebrate after the run.
Keeping Auckland’s coastlines clean and reducing the impact of waste is paramount to the event - last year we managed to recycle or reuse a massive 67 per cent of the five tonnes of waste generated and the March 2019 event wants to reduce its environmental impact further with the goal to be a zero-waste event.
All ticket sales go towards supporting the event’s three charity partners; Sea Cleaners Trust, Diabetes NZ Auckland branch and Big Buddy Mentoring Trust, who each receive a share of $60,000 for their cause. Last year, the event generated more than $160,000 for NZ charities and this year hopes to raise over $200,000.
