January 2017 Newsletter

Hello and a happy New Year!

I hope everybody had a relaxing break!

I'm George the new Children's Day Coordinator for 2017, and I'm very excited to be part of such a lovely event.

This year Children's Day falls on Sunday the 5th of March.

Just an Update for Children's Day – and it's coming around fast!

Events:

We already have registers coming in from around the country with about 20 registered! The website is being updated with new events daily so keep a look out!

To those of you that have registered, thank you, they have been coming through nicely.

Children's Day 2017 is looking exciting already!

Those of you that would like to host an event this year you will need to register your event here.

We did unfortunately have a technical issue with our registering link which has been updated, but this just means that anyone who registered any time last year will unfortunately need to re-register.

It would be very sad to miss any of these fantastic events!

Resources:

If you have already registered your event, your resources will start to be delivered in the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out for them.

For those who haven't registered, make sure you remember to in plenty of time for you to promote your event. It can take a couple of weeks after you register for the resources to arrive, so don't leave it to the last minute.

The activity book and flyer are available online to download and print, check them out!

Apart from registering your event on our website here are some other ways to promote your event:

  • Make an 'event' on your Facebook page, that way people can see who is attending and may be more likely to go themselves.
  • Order or print some promotional flyers! We have free flyers available to order online which has a space for you to include information about your event. If you want them bigger that A5 we have the PDF up on the website too.
  • Inform your local media. We have a media statement available online which you can use to inform your local media centres. They may want to do a story about your upcoming event, which is sure to draw in more families on the day.

If anyone has any questions feel free to get in touch via info@childrensday.org.nz.

Look forward to receiving more of your registrations!

Thanks,
George
